The Club name

Since 2017 I have owned the name Rover 800 Owners Club, it is a limited Company registered by me with both Companies House and HMRC for tax purposes.
I chose to call our club simply Rover 800 Club to try to alleviate any confusion between us and the other club, who were now using my company name illegally, even though I had the right to the name. Following discussions with their Club Chairman, from November they will be renaming their Club which will hopefully end the confusion and leave me clear to use the name Rover 800 Owners Club.
There will be little change at first, we will continue to use Rover 800 Club as the trading name of the Rover 800 Owners Club, however in time the latter will be used more and more.
I also own the name Rover 800 Owners Group, this name will be used for a future project.

What a silly situation to have with 2 Clubs that do not communicate with each other despite sharing the same goals.

Hi Jack
Thanks for contacting the Rover 800 Club.
There are indeed 2 clubs but this is the only one that exclusively supports the Rover 800.
The other supports 600,800, Honda Legend and Honda Accord, and is administered by the Maestro,Montego Club, not something we have any interest in.
Also there are multiple Clubs that have separate support networks, MG Owners Club, MG Car Club, TR Register, TR Drivers Club to name a few.
There are usually reasons for this and I hope you have asked the same question of the Rover 600 and 800 Club, incorporating Honda Legend and Accord, all series, and not just assumed the silliness has come from this Club, which would be incorrect.
Regards
Dave Smart
Rover 800 Owners Club.

Ah yes, the Rover 800 a brand of so many different models of cars produced over many decades, just like the entire MG and Triumph ranges.
