Sill production for the Coupe model is ready to commence.
Delivery to me will be about 7-10 days after the order is placed. We will post up all the details shortly and ask for firmed orders and give out payment details. In this time of Corona Virus The Club is happy to announce a positive note in that we are about to embark on a major investment in parts manufacture.
First to come on stream will be the Coupe Sills manufactured from Zintec steel and will be made in 1.2mm thickness as opposed to the 0.8mm standard. These are expected to be available from the end of April 2020 and prices are expected to be £130 a pair for Club Members and £170 for Non-Members. Postage is currently looking like £45 a set due to size and weight but does include a £300 insurance. We will endeavour where possible find a cheaper alternative. Collection may be possible from either shows attended by the Club or locations to be advised. Please keep checking back here on the Club Chat for further updates and progress. As you can see it pays to be a paid up member of the Club. The Club would like to thank Simon Hubbard who originally sourced and trialled the remanufacture of these parts and without his input this investment would have not been possible. As previously stated we, the organising committee of Roverfest 2020, have been reviewing the viability of the event especially in the light of the recent Government guidance regarding the Coronavirus (Covid-19). After recent negotiations with Sywell Aerodrome, we have reached an agreement to Postpone Roverfest 2020 until 2021. Sywell have also agreed that we can have the same weekend and also any hotel bookings made with them at their Aviator Hotel will be honoured for that weekend at no extra cost.
The decision has therefore been made to postpone Roverfest 2020 for one year and to honour all existing entries and Sywell Aviator Hotel bookings. Roverfest 2020 will now become Roverfest 2021, to be held on 6th, 7th & 8th August 2021. All existing Roverfest bookings will automatically be transferred to the rescheduled event unless this is not required, in which case a full refund will be made available using the same method as the original payment. It should be noted that while existing entries will be honoured new entries are not guaranteed to be at the original price. This decision was not easy to take but when we were informed that the Practical Classics Restoration Show was to be rescheduled from March to the same weekend as the original Roverfest, this August, we felt in order to make Roverfest the best event we had to postpone. We hope that if you have made arrangements around the original date they too can be put forward 1 year. Wishing you continued good health, Roverfest Committee. Due to the ongoing coronavirus Covid-19 situation, the Roverfest 2020 committee have made an early decision to REVIEW Roverfest 2020 mainly because of the latest UK position, as well as the current travel difficulties faced by overseas visitors. As one of our biggest Rover events, which attracts a good number of event-goers in the category that has been advised by the Government to self-isolate, our priority remains the wellbeing of our visitors, suppliers, staff and volunteers. The organising committee are having on going discussions with Sywell and will report back when appropriate.
