Since 2017 I have owned the name Rover 800 Owners Club, it is a limited Company registered by me with both Companies House and HMRC for tax purposes.
I chose to call our club simply Rover 800 Club to try to alleviate any confusion between us and the other club, who were now using my company name illegally, even though I had the right to the name. Following discussions with their Club Chairman, from November they will be renaming their Club which will hopefully end the confusion and leave me clear to use the name Rover 800 Owners Club. There will be little change at first, we will continue to use Rover 800 Club as the trading name of the Rover 800 Owners Club, however in time the latter will be used more and more. I also own the name Rover 800 Owners Group, this name will be used for a future project. Dave Smart Managing Director Rover 800 Owners Club Ltd

We look forward to seeing you and your vehicles during the year. We currently compiling the event calendar for 2023 and will post the calendar up over the next week or so.
Check back soon for details of events where you can take your cars to shows and which ones the Club will be in attendance. Admin Team As a Club we pride ourselves on providing accurate information and the selling of quality items to our members.
It is to this end we have had to Temporarily suspended the sale of clothing items due to supplier issues which we are working hard to resolve. Please be assured that the club will bring these items back in the near future and to the quality that we insist upon. There was no quality issue with our current supplier but more of a timely supply problem. All of our other favourites such as pens & window stickers are still available as are the Coupe & saloon/fastback sills All sills are now back in stock and ready for purchase. As indicated in the last post these have been subject to an increase in pricing. New prices are in the listing.
A new batch of Coupe sills were placed on order today and should be with us in 7-10 days.
Apologies for any delays this may cause. Also please be aware that, like everything in life, the cost to the Club of both Coupe and Saloon/Fastback sills has increased by 7% on raw materials alone. New prices will be announced shortly but it's going to be around £10-12 per pair from what the fabricator was saying today. As a Club we have zero control over this sadly. The Rover 800 Club has partnered up with Footman James Classic Car Insurance to bring club members discounted rate on their classic car insurance giving you agreed valuations, options to buy back in the unfortunate event of an accident. You can either go direct or use the link provided in the Parts Hub section of the club's website.
You will need to give them your club membership number when applying or accepting a quote which will be confirmed by the club's admin to entitle you to the discounted rate. Rates will vary dependant on location, storage alarms etc. Well Roverfest has now been and gone and although numbers were down due to fuel prices it was a great event with many cars on show from pre-war all the way through to Rover 75. Some very fine cars were on display and the Clubs stand was extremely busy all day with either admirers of the 14 800's that were on show or people popping in for a chat and reminiscing about owning one themselves.
Many technical questions answered and parts also sold on to visitors needing parts for their cars. All in all an exceptional show with fantastic weather. There are plenty of photos to view by either searching Roverfest 2022 website of visiting the Roverfest facebook page. https://www.roverfest.uk/ https://www.facebook.com/groups/roverfest2022 We have now added a new page under the Technical section called Technical Bulletins. This is still under development but is still accessible by members.
Here you will find Technical Bulletins released by Rover to the Dealer Network to fix common problems found in the field and reported by either owners or mechanics in the workshop. We are currently working through the mountain of information we have gained and identifying the Bulletins with a more user friendly title to aid in your viewing & searches. Please leave feedback via the Facebook page as this helps us to help you. Admin Team We have updated the 2022 events page giving details of National shows that the club will be attending this year along with information on shows that are more local for you to attend if distance to the National events are a problem for you.
We will also be including Technical days later this year at the British Motor Museum and will keep you updated when dates become available. Please keep checking the website for when these are added. Please feel free to leave comments. |
